Pocket Watch Illustration

Drawing a pocket watch was a fun challenge because of the planning, structure, and detail that goes into it. I layed out a grid over my sketch during the drawing process to ensure every hour and minute mark was in the correct spot with even spacing all around. It is very satisfying to see that it came together in such a clean and organized way. I also enjoyed drawing the lighting and shadow on the metal of the watch, including each individual roman numeral, because of the dazzling and shiny way metal reacts to light.
